BHC RHODES HONORS
2006 COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD WINNER

OVERLAND PARK, Ks. -- June 14, 2006 -- BHC RHODES today announced the recipient of the 2006 Community Leadership Award during a breakfast reception of community leaders and dignitaries at Nicklaus Golf Club at Lion's Gate in Overland Park, Kansas. Courtney Christensen, the city administrator for Mission Hills, Kansas was presented the award on behalf of BHC RHODES by Kansas City Chief's #54, Brian Waters.

This Community Leadership Award is a program that BHC RHODES began in 2005. This honor is given to an industry professional for his/her efforts in giving back to the Kansas City community. Courtney was given the award because of her volunteer and coordination efforts for the Women's Employment Network (WEN). This organization provides women and their families with training and support to overcome great odds.

Governor of the State of Kansas, Kathleen Sebelius was not able to attend the event but sent a letter commending Courtney saying, "The Women's Employment Network Organization is fortunate to have someone of your vision and leadership…congratulations on this great honor, and thank you for your efforts to empower the women of this state."

At the event, Kevin Honomichl, president of BHC RHODES presented a financial contribution to the WEN organization in Courtney's honor. "We are proud to have been actively involved in giving of our time and money to many organizations in Kansas City. Our heritage of giving led us to find and honor, through our Community Leadership Award, others that have a similar belief and who are making a difference in this community," said Honomichl.

"Courtney Christensen was a perfect choice for the 2006 award. She is very deserving of recognition because of her progressive goals to get elected officials involved in the Women's Employment Network," Honomichl added.

Brain Waters of the Kansas City Chiefs was the award presenter. Brian is well known not only for his action on the field but for his ongoing, positive action in the community, and is a very strong advocate for programs that help children.

BHC RHODES is based in Overland Park, KS and was founded in 1992 to deliver outstanding consulting engineering service and expertise.
